We’re currently making a new spectacular hiking path! To the Flørli waterfall. It will be a two hour path into the canyon to the foot of the waterfall, then beside the waterfall to the top. From there it will continue to the main path at Flørlistølen.
Because the terrain is so steep, we figure we will need 120 metres wooden stairs to avoid erosion and give people a good hiking experience. These wooden stairs will be built out of solid, thick planks so that they will last some 25 years. We chisel out every single step! It’s many weeks of work and we’ve only just started.
When all the stairs are finished, we will put them aside for helicopter transport. They will be dropped in the exact places we need to install them. The sections weigh between 70 and 100kg and are way too heavy to carry up. Wish us luck!
